Partner Bert S. Sakuda possesses 30 years of legal experience and joined Cronin, Fried, Sekiya, Kekina & Fairbanks in 1979. While Mr. Sakuda handles personal injury cases, including automobile accidents, aviation accidents, and products liability, his focus is on cases that involve insurance, motor vehicle accidents and appellate advocacy issues. This means that he has earned a reputation as one of Hawaii’s leading litigators and authorities on insurance law. Mr. Sakuda is often invited to provide education seminars and to testify at legislative hearings in the field of casualty insurance. Additionally, he has served on several legislative committees, including those for the Hawaii State Bar Association, the Consumer Lawyers of Hawaii, and the American Bar Association Litigation Section. In the past, the Chief Justice of the Hawaii Supreme Court appointed Mr. Sakuda to serve on the Hawaii Supreme Court’s Standing Committees on Civil Jury Instructions, Appellate Rules, the Discovery Referee Committee, and the State of Hawaii Judicial Conference.
